Problems with MPC2000xl / Scsi 250 zip drive

I need help loading songs in my Mpc
the file type is ?????
and nothing from my 250 disks is loading

Im using a mpc2000xl with 250 scsi zip drive
File types are wav.

about three days ago the APS. and ALL. were taking 40 minutes loading, now not loading at all.

100mb disks are working fine in the 250 zip drive but the 250 are showing empty

im going to keep hte unreliable for now cause i just ordered a new one, after i get all the data back im going to have to think about it

Your disk might be corrupt.. Your files might be corrupt..

I did spill beer in the zip drives a few weeks ago and it continued to work, I completly forgot.

does your zip drive have a scsi switch on the back of it?? , i have beats i made on the classic mpc2000 and i save the beats on a zip disk but i cant seem to find a zip drive with a scsi switch on the back , i tried other ideas like terminators and all but it not gonna work unless i geta zip drive with the scsi number switch on the back ! i dont think regular zip drives work with the mpc2000xl

I doubt what was said above is the case because it was working for him before. You need to try a different 250 disk. If that reads are writes, then the disk you are using is probably corrupt or damaged. You could also try reading the disk in another drive and see if you have any luck there. Those things are so easy to break, you need to back up regularly. If you have a reader on a computer you can try one of those tools that scans the disc surface for data. Thats usually your only chance if you can't read any other way.

I don't get how a zip disk can just become corrupt.
I saved 8 beats on the last zip disk I used and 8-10 beats on the last 6 disks I used now none of them work in the drive.

How do they just become corrupt? and all my work has fanished.

I told my manager about the problem yesterday and he couldn't see how all the beats are gone.

I did spill a small amount of beer, that explains the drive but that doesn't explain the zip disks
