pads keep playing

when playing a sample, it keeps going once I remove my finger from the pad. What do I switch to make it stop when I release. thanks all

i can never figure out where the manual talks about this for the MPC1000 so:

in PROGRAM mode, highlight the sample name, then hit the WINDOW button. change the layer from ONE SHOT to NOTE ON. the sample should then only play while you hold the pad....

Here you go. What I did on the 1k manual pdf document was use the keyword search function "Ctrl+F" and did a search of the manual for NOTE OFF, MONO, and POLY. Came right up in about 20 seconds..


If you need to keep searching for that keyword even more you can go to the next page that it's mentioned in the document, just press "F3". The search will continue on through the manual looking for the keyword again from wherever you left off..

Setting the overlap of the sounds on the same pad (voice overlap)

Normally, when you hit the same pad several times, the same sound will be overlapped. When you use the MPC1000 as a drum machine, you can make the performance sound natural with this feature. However, when you
are using a phrase sample, it may be better not to overlap the same sound. With the voice overlap function, you can set the MPC1000 not to overlap the same pad sound.

01. In the PROGRAM mode, press the [F3] (PARAMS) key.
The PARAMS page will be displayed.

02. Select the desired pad by hitting it.

03. In the Voice overlap field, select MONO.

POLY The MPC1000 overlaps the sound.
MONO The MPC1000 does not overlap the sound.

If you select MONO, when you hit the pad several times, only the pad that was hit last will be played.

thats good to know lamp. i think we are describing two different aspects how the MPC will playback the sample when you hit a pad tho...

also, i never tried searching the pdf file; i got used to the paper manual. not everywhere i take the MPC has internet access. plus, the paper version never crashes...
