grid edit layout and work flow

Features are starting to appear in grid that is really taking up space and should not be there, the main tools we need in grid is editing tools and thats it.

What i like about step is that is is dedicated for editing, you don't see BPM values there etc etc so why is this happening to grid, grid should have the same balance as step edit with only the most important tools for editing,
let the other features stay out of the screen that's what MAIN is for as well as PROGRAM mode, we can have all the space in GRID used to show our data better and nice and clean.

I recon get rid of BPM, Seq data Loop data, F4 Program , F5 Mute and F6 Solo , also shift F6 Loop and F2 Click and i mean we have mute and solo in MAIN its one click to get to main from GRID same for Click and Loop as well as in MIDI screen the same applies, let MAIN stay dominant for those features.

This gives more space to show note values across the top of GRID and we have more editing tools for F keys as well as shift F keys.

Can we agree on this and get JJ to change it ?


Other features and tweaks:

1 while sequence is playing we use a F key to edit and it will disconnect the data wheel (and marker point) and allow us to highlight a note while sequence is playing and then we can edit its values.

also Q-REAL we should be able to click on it and it it should automatically highlight the parameter and we should be able to change this while sequence in playing ( since we can already do this in SLIDER screen ) now we have click on Q-REAL and click left and 2 clicks up (in play mode)
small things but make a difference in work flow

I agree. lots of those features.,.such as mute solo... arent necesary

agreed

they should be (and probably will be) replaced with PAD MUTE and PAD SOLO, which would make every pad like its own track.

sorry, i desagree with that. i find loop really convenient there. BPM also.
maybe give it a bit more time and you will find use for these functions.

for mute and solo i don't really mind, but i am not so sure if it worth being changed.

these are good ideas.

personnaly what i would like is a way to nudge notes (as MOVE in step edit)

oh, actually there is a way to MOVE events. overdub -> edit -> then field "(0)"
