Metronome\Click Volume HELP!!

Wassup MPC'ers!!! I just got my first mpc yesterday, the 1000. I'm loving it to death so far but Akai could've done the manual a little more justice. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to adjust the metronome\click volume, if it can be adjusted. I hope I have not missed that topic in the manual 'cause I've searched it back and forth. There is no click volume control within the MPC1000.
The only way to adjust it is to route all your samples through the assignable outs, and keep the main outs just for the click.
Then you can adjust the relative levels on your external mixer.

If you just wanna turn the thing on or off, Press f2 on the main screen where you can make the settings.

But you probably already know that.

I use my mpc in our band for live situations. For me this is a huge inconvenience. I primarily use 2 bar loops in our performances. I could assign a click instrument to a pad and sequence bar 1 with the count in. Then how do you get the sequence to loop only the 2nd & 3rd bar?

I've played with the LOOP option in the main sequence page but that only plays the bars specified. I'm looking to only play bar 1 once, then loop bar 2 & 3.

Another option is to make 2 sequences and make one SONG, one sequence being the count in. However if you do 10 live songs, that's 10 extra settings. Plus you have to name everything to stay organized.

Is there a more effecient way?

Why not just insert a couple of bars into the beginning of your sequence and record your "click" into the empty bars?

That works for starting the song however the sequence will go back to bar 1 when it loops. I only want the 1st bar to play once so the rest of the band will know when to come in on bar 2.

Again, bar 1 is the click (shaker) and bar 2 & 3 is the actual drum loop. I'm looking for bar 1 to play once, then bar 2 & 3 to loop continuously. Like I said you can do it using two separate sequences, however it gets more tedious that way and you have to use the SONG feature.

The click features that the 2000 have would solve the problem without all the extra work.

The metronome is one problem I ran into coming from an mc-909 for live performance. The 909 not only can play the metronome before you hit play but the play button flashes to the tempo of the current song or pattern. And you CAN adjust the volume of the click. For what youre trying to acheive what about using a hit hat or something that you will already be programing into the drum loop, then when it comes around again just let it play or add to it. Im not sure if this will work for what youre doing but it may spark something for you.

Looks like the latest JJ OS for the 2500 has some additional metronome settings including volume and click sample. This may solve my problem.

JJ OS solved the problem..........

In the latest version they now have an option to direct the desired metronome sample to whatever output you want.

Very helpful for us musicians that use MPCs for playing loops for live situations.

Does anyone know how to adjust the metronome/click volume on a 2000XL? I couldn't find it in the manual.
