YO Y DO ALL THE OTHER MPC USERS HATE THE MPC 1000?

ebay got the mpc 60 at like 800$

$800 is usually the most you should pay for an MPC 60. You should normally aim for one at around $600-$700. When you start spending $1200 or more, you are getting into the MPC 3000 range.

I MAYBE PAY 500$ FOR IT U COULD GET A 2K XL 4 LIKE 700-800$

The built of a Mpc1000 compared to the Mpc2000XL is extreamly noticable..

from pads to buttons to sliders to screen u can just tell they used better parts on the mpc2000xl compared to the mpc1000..

I allways loved old gear because u know back then it was all about quality parts for quality gear and things where alot more expensive...

Now all this new gear feels so cheap and u know they used the cheapest parts to build a cheaper unit...

Mpc2000xl > Mpc1000 when it comes to feel and built...

i trust vst on this. they say it's built as durably and that they repair the same things (buttons, data wheels) on 2000s and 1000s equally as often. according to vst the pads are the only thing that is built less durably.

I respect what VST says...have always provided greats service for my MPCs as well as friends.

Regardless of what is repaired most often, anyone using an older MPC and then using a 1000 will quickly realize the difference. As far as the frequency of repairs, many of the MPC 2000XL as being puchased second hand after years of use/abuse. I have used the MPC 2000XLs since 1999. I have never had one that needed to be repaired.

it realy doesnt matter what vst says im going to believe in what i seen for my self there is a diff a mpc1000 is cheap built cheap compared to the Mpc2000xl

my mpc2000xl is very solid and i can picture it being my centerpeice in 10 years...i didnt feel that with the mpc1000 i knew i couldnt get 5 yrs with out the pads dying on me or wheel to start bugging out...CF Reader getting damaged from inserting the card in incorrectly

I dont feel that about my card reader in my mpc it feels very sturdy and realy isnt a way to damage it...

still i think the mpc1000 is a cool peice

The CF card reader in both the MPC 2500 and 1000 are cheap. I am very careful to insert cards gently.

I think the MPC1000 sounds like a wicked machine to me. If you edit on the Mac, then I just don't see a better option for the cost. I wouldn't mind one, but if the pads are garbage!?!?!?!

Does it feel like an MPC3K or an MPC2kXL? Of course not. That doesn't make its an inferior machine. Its just a different kind of Akai production center!

The pads are inferior no matter how you slice it. The pads are an essential part of the MPC.

its true. i messed around on a 1k last night. pads feel like youre hitting a brick wall.

ya i bent the needles in my cf card reader i had to bend them back they are cheap as ****. i wish they came out with another flash drive thats not cf for the mpc1000.. ya i bought my mpc a year ago and the mode button and cf card drive where the only problems i have, i can tell shift key will be next
