YO Y DO ALL THE OTHER MPC USERS HATE THE MPC 1000?

Hard drive peolpe......HARD DRIVE, installed a 40gig, and haven't used my CF since. lol....I bought my 1000 used and haven't had a problem....yet......although the skinny buttoms (mode main and the F1- ) seem like they will go if you mash the H&ll out of them...but I've seen this on all MPC models, especially 2000's and and 2000XL's not to mention the display screens blanking out....

but that's good and bad thing! at least u can actually be mobile!

i havent had any problems with my 1k. i stay gentle on the pads and the fact that they are a bit more rigid than the 2k is something i actually like. i understand the differences in design, but i disagree with the statements that they (1k pads) are pure trash. ive made a sh!t load of beats on my 1k in the past 18 months, and for me, its completely in the intuitive flow and fun i have while creating. ive saved myself so much time and come up with so many new (sometimes accidental) techniques.....my MPC 1000 is indespensible. the small size works well for me too, cause my studio is small. we all have our preferences, but i think the 1k is the leader!~peace~

It feels like hardware that you can pick up and PLAY, not a big metal box sitting on a desk, more like a drum. Pick it up, put it on your lap, move it around, get comfortable, and bang some beats. It's also easier to take places with you, not like a 500 (which is more portable but lacks some serious features), sturdy, small, portable. To me it feels like a solid piece of hardware, a solid block of funk. I've known people who had 2ks, they sat on the desk, immobile, not something you'd move let alone put on your lap. I'm a n00b with owning an mpc but the 1k feels great.
