MPC 2500 after 1 year and 1 month

Not sure how you guys feel...but on my old 60 (or was it the 2k?) in the Mixer page, the level bars would also function as real-time audio meters as a beat was playing back.

Would be awesome if the 2500 had that -- it'd make it so much easier to see which pad mapped to which output, etc. Sometimes in the flow of creating a beat you forget how you assigned things.

I want to see more slider functions.
ie that 1k start/end point thing in the 2500

A little off topic, but do any of you think that Akai will ever develop a firewire card for the 2500? Either that or put a firewire port on the back of a new model for streaming of multiple audio channels in real-time into a DAW?

one other thing I would find useful would be the ability to send Midi Time code to one output, whilst sending Midi Clock on another...

Need this because im sending MTC to control my DAW, yet I need to also send midi clock to control my other gear..

Why don't you let your DAW send MTC to the MPC (using the JJ OS or the workaround with the Akai OS), and then let the MPC send Midi clock to your other instruments.

Yep that is an option but to be honest the current transport probs are a bit of a pain in the ass.. + when slaved for some reason the MPC still runs about 20 ms late compared to the pc.. which isnt very cool when trying to bounce stuff down. I personally dont trust my pc to give any reliable clock/timecode as it all gets a bit erratic when the CPU levels are high.
So I prefer to keep the MPC as master then at least I know my beats and basses stay tight!

Whether your MPC is a slave or master to your PC, you should get very similar results as far as latency.
