Forum to discuss all matters relating to the MPC1000 and MPC2500 operating systems created by 'JJ' (all versions).

This idea came to me the other night while i was DJing with MPC. I came up with an idea called 'DJ mode'

DJ mode on the MPC 2500 would give you the following...

1. Q-Link slider 1 becomes pitch shift: in the centre position, there is no shift. Moving the slider up or down creates a real time sample playaback shift of up to +/- 6% (this is inline with the resolution of technics 8% with larger faders)

2. Q-Link slider 2 becomes speed shift. Working in the same way as above, this operates in a varispeeed type of way.

3. Pads become triggers for record 'crate', a directory on the HD

4. MPC 2500 can operate in twin, triple or even quad mode, allowing for the separete outputs to represent virtual recorddecks. This way, it would be possible to do 4 (or even 5?) deck mixing on ONE MPC!

Any other ideas?

I own a 2500 and would like to have the ability to edit and move events in grid
while overdub+play is on

i mean a free moveable (unbind from play pos.) navigation

this is what i miss cause i used reason since now and on pc sequencers
you can play the track add, move, delete events and directly
hear the result

i think that is a much faster workflow

maybe a solution like another sequence mode...sequence is playing in backround and you grid-step-edit the same sequence virtual ,and it udates the playing sequence with every loop or like that .

and of course prelistening samples in load screen while playing (at best in 16 tune levels)

sorry for bad grammar and formulation :(

in addition to seq edit functions like copy, move , transpose etc..

i would really like functions like stretch or length change, tempo change (ie: x2,x4,x0.5, or any reasonable value), groove extract/paste, reverse or mirror, invert or flip key (with axis values) , delay or echo events, delete duplicates, chord map (ie: different keyscales + chord memories) that sort of thing,

as the functions in seq edit are all non realtime, it probably wouldnt take much cpu right?

any use to anyone? it would be ace to have it in an update.

that's pretty cool. i'd love pgms of different keyscales etc

i would really enjoy love my mpc if they where noprogram limit inthe internal memory... :?
or / and it would be even better if we could assign slices to :
program XXX>>>pad bank A (e.g)
i would love too to modify multiple hits at the same time in grid edit (so i wouldn't have to change too much my programs settings

i don't really care about pong and splashscreen...
please JJ go back at true work!!! your so good at it!!

what do you think of another combination of key for lcd contrast ? the last time i made a beat i had to tune a sample very fine (about 0.01) and i could hear if it was good from the first beats of the bar so it was very quick and accidently i changed lcd contrast accidently several times ( you know pressing play, stop and moving the wheel fast).

X0X style input

PGM layer

a way to switch active track in track mute mode

being able to set velocity in 'full level' mode

sequence resizing with pattern time scaling

phrase trigger with lock to tempo and snap to TC

revamped distortion effect

wider filter control via Q

offline sample edits such as fade

looping modes beyond forward loop

midi delay?

render track(s) to HDD

is this possible?

another feature I would like (it could be done manually, but implemented as a feature would be very cool) is to have a 16 levels-type TUNE feature, only the note values fall within a certain scale

such as 16 Levels Major Scale, or 16 Levels Minor Pentatonic -

that way you could apply it to a bass note, and the note would instantly be in a scale - any pad you pressed would be within that scale and you could create a bass riff/piano riff, whatever, and no notes would be incorrect as they would all fall within the scale

saving and loading .AKP is tops for me though

it could also work in the autochromatic function, like you could create a program layed out for you with your choice of scale.
