the poit is... I see It like u work with hardware(analog sinth's ,samplers,processors and so on) you do so,you get a point with that...and then you've got a result ex. TRACK or Album...Get this record and go to the proper mastering studio...

yeah... but what are you going to record it into..?

Your right you could record from hardware direct to say a DAT machine and take that to a mastering engineer, but nowadays I dont think he'd be very happy! You gotta get your mixes sounding spot on before you get to that stage.. thats where a computer comes in handy for me.. sorting out your mixdowns etc..

You've also got to understand that people dont always want to have 10 synths banging away all at once, its sometimes nice to bounce down your individual parts to stems and mix them on a PC..

If your going to get your stuff professionally mixed you cant turn up at the mixing studio with a van full of gear! You'll have to bounce down the parts yourself and give the engineer a load of wav. stems of the seperate parts.. you need a computer for this, or a digital multitracker..

You cant get away from software these days, and I personally think its a blessing!

Yeahh.. that's right! computer and sofware is an inevitable end..
but If you keep your records on DAT types and I think mastering studio engeneer would be happy to work with a proper analog sound..
anyway ..all what they want of you is your mix in high rate quality...make your sound as much better as you can,And you will make ground for the mastering..

Don't know...with some reasons I'd like to avoid a software.. Like you've got to use a proper hardware (processor) ..If you wanna propa reverb.. Isn't ?

DAT tapes are digital, not analog thats why they're called Digital Audio tapes!
