Hey,

I have downloaded the akaidisc program from the official akai site, but when trying to load up the samples recorded in my s950 it says empty disc. and when the disc is formatted in akaidisc to the s950 format, my s950 says the disc is not formatted. Could anybody please tell me what the reason(s) could be? thanks

No, got no problems with my s950. could it be a software problem? Maybe you know any other program to export / import s950 files that i could use?

try here:

http://www.xfader.com/akai/

i haven't used any of these, but they should work, unless you have a hardware problem. it could still be a floppy drive going bad. prehaps your pc one?

Has anyone had any luck trying this with XP? I've had nothing but problems with it. It's no big deal, but it'd be nice to use now and again.

was it not working because it was in XP, or was for the same reason as before?

I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with the way the program uses dos/ and command prompts. It's a shame, cause it shouldn't be that difficult.

Although maybe it's me, because I had the mpc pgm maker freeze on me more often than it worked. Sampling on the 60 is way quicker than the s950 though. Oh well, I guess that's the price of older machines!

did you try the adiskwin program on that link i gave you? it's a front end for the akaidisk DOS program, and allows you to use it in windows i believe.

Yeah, I've been wrestling with this program for a while... installed new .dll's into windows directories, tried it with different computers, different drives but still no dice. It's no big deal, I'll just stick to sampling straight into it I think.
