need help with my setup.. plz anyone !

Okay so recently i went to guitar center and bought a firebox audio interface... long story short.. it isnt compatible with dell inspiration e1505 laptops so i had to return it..i did some research on the net and it turns out that there is some issue with the dell firewire card.. basically firewire wont work with my laptop...anyways let me just list what i exactly have..

MPC 2500
2 AUDIO instrument cables
2 midi cables
yamaha dgx 205 (use as a Midi keyboard)
dell e1505 (2 ghz dual core, 2 gigs of ram)



basically i want to be able to transfer my tracks over onto my laptop onto fruity loops where i can master. Is there some sort of way i can do this and still retain good extremely quality without a firewire audio interface or without resampling in the MPC through the MAIN? I have a budget of around $200..

what about external pci cards? is it somehow possible through a docking station

I recon MOTU audio cards got some USB card..I don't know how good is It,but It still exist..

This is where you go if you are seeking more power for your laptop. It's not cheap though. You may be able to find them used on eBay for a little less. I was considering one for my Alienware when I wanted to run UAD PCI card on it. I think it was like $600-$800 for a 1-slot used. Obviously wouldn't consider spending all that on just 1 slot. If you wanna make the dive, you might as well get a few to protect yourself from future expansion.

Personally, if the firewire doesn't work I would ship back to Dell and tell them to fix their shit.

All the docking stations I have seen are simply an extra in/out interface, not somewhere you can add extra hardware like PCI cards.

However you maybe be able to find a Firewire docking station compatible with your lappy perhaps?

im thinkin about getting the edirol UA-25, which is the only cheap alternative i have which is good
