yo, just picked my 500 up. cost me $675 after tax and all (not thrilled about the price...but hey...i finally have an mpc that fits in my briefcase).

question. How do you adjust the contrast on the LCD screen. its one of those things you know is in the manual somewhere...but its such a minor detail that i just cant seem to find it.

screen is bright as hell..I can barely read the letters...

quick answer is all im looking for..if y'all know. good looks-

I think there is a screw in the Battery area that adjust something with the display, I haven't messed with it but I read it in the Manual.

enotide...thanks. you're right. there is a damn near microscopic screw right near the batteries, on the bottom of the machine that i have to twist to adjust the contrast.

case closed.

its bena, what does it do, can you adjust the screen by 0-25-50-75-100% or simply from 1 to 100%?

could not wait for a respond :). adjusted my screen yesterday and it is perfect now. it is very easy to do and I think that it is a great fuction.
For the others: it works like the eq/gain knobs on a mixer, and if you don't like it you can turn it back to the factory setting.
But I could only adjust the contrast of the letters, but could not dim the light. how did you do that?

The only thing I does, its just the point-of-view correction... the screw in the back of mpc (contrast)... what can I do more? theres something I dont know?

i think i misunderstood you, thought you was talking about the light of the screen too , not just the visibility of the letters. sorry for the confusion.

How do you dim the backlight?

I thought the screw in the battery compartment was just for adjusting the LCD contrast.

I don't get it either. tweaked that screw too, but only the contrast changes, not the backlight. can't find something about diming the light in the manual either. please, tell us your secret :)
