MPC2500 MIDI Fantom X6 issues (MIDI LOOP)

If you have the MIDI OUTPUT of the MPC connected to the MIDI INPUT of the Fantom..with no other MIDI connections...it should work just fine with no feedback because there is no loop..just a single connection.

I currently use the Fantom XR, and I have no issues sequencing it with the MPC 2500.

Are you sure you are using the lastest MPC OS? Also, do you te MPCs MIDI SYNC SLAVE/MASTER turned OFF. If not, turn it off and try again sequencing your Fantom.

Yes that is off. and yes the os is 1.22 to be sure I made it so yesterday... The original test you mentioned above I am almost positive is the one fantom had me do and the note still hung! Which was weird!

After calling Akai today the problem is fixed, but not solved. We were unable to figure out why or how this was happening. But after recording new sequences and messing with multiple settings the results were still negative. Finally I went into a different mode other then performance layer, program mode aka patch mode and that of course didn't have the issue, then when I returned to performance mode the notes were no longer hanging. It was extremely frustrating and I know it will come back. But at this time, there is nothing more I can do as the problem has gone away.

It's important to note according to Akai the midi information send to and from will be visible under the Step Edit selection. When testing I pressed a single key went in there and noted that all I saw was that single key. To akai this proved that no other strange midi information had been sent.

Nevermind it's back. Calling akai...sigh...

Came back when I tried to go back to the beat I was making.

Gone again....time to break out the note book and really start recording what Im doing...

So you are sayig the it works ok in patch mode but not performance mode?

Wierd.

Sounds to me like one of your bits of hardware is f'd. Did you buy your Fantom and MPC brand new?

Dont know the Fantom at all but can you do a factory reset?

I'm guessing you've already tried this on the MPC as well?
