No, dont freeze...please....AW YOU F**KER!

When ive got a few sequences rolling and im messing about with the Note repeat and track mutes etc sometimes when I go to change sequences from the main screen the unit just freezes - and its totally crashed!! I guess its cos im going a bit fast & bashing too many buttons too quickly..

I cant recreate this bug.. It just always happens when you think aah, better save this but ill just listen to it once more then FREEEEZE!! Then thats it work gone u gotta turn it off and reboot. This happens about once every 2 weeks. Im runnin os 1.22, but it still did it on os 1.1 and os 1.0..

Nearly kicked the f**kin thing all round the studio last night!

The mpc is just like a simplfied computer, minus the fancy colour graphics, and the odd ms works or powerpoint

I thinks its more to do with you using the machine like its a powerful pc or mac, and even they sometimes crash when asked to multitask.

The mpc needs to be treated like an instrument, and if you switch like a cat from one mode to another, you will suffer the odd freeze once in a while.

For the sake of it have you gone back to OS 1.21? Do a factoty reset and then see what happens over a week or so. Also have you expanded the ram with the official akai ram? If so, take it out and put it back in again.

Are you loading long samples? What CF card are you using, size and brand? have you dropped your 2500? How long have had the mpc for? Is it returnable?

lots of question which you need to answer, im sure you will find your solution.

I just want to chime in and say YES! that sh1t used to happen to me...

I actually stopped making beats for a while because of it. It seemed like every time inspiration would strike, I would sit down, start a song then something horrible and discouraging would happen with my mpc.

The JJ os isn't perfect but, I have yet to lose any work with it...plus those extra features are really useful.
