$700 on MPC1000 or 2000XL???

hey if i find a used 2000XL for 750 should i buy it or buy a used 700-dollar mpc1000 (possibly new?)?

if its your first sampler, i'd say the 1k with the jjos..

so sick, easy.. fast.. etc.. very user friendly. i have only had it for 3 months and im gettin better at using it very quickly.

just remember, when you get an mpc, its like learning a whole new instrument. which makes it that much sicker..

The 1k i made a huge mistake gettign a 2k. (only cuz it was 500)

He said 2kxl not 2k....BIG difference!!!!

Do yourself a real favor and try them both out. They sound similar but not identical, but the real difference is in the pads and the hinged screen of the 2kxl. And the capabillity for 8 outs. I have owned both and would not trade my 2000xl MCD for a 1000. Though I can definitely understand why someone would guide you towards the 1000.


Without trying both, you will probably end up in a spiral of joy and regret until you occupy all of your time in the MPC comparisons forum.

save and get the 2500

I was at the music store early today and played around with the 1k and the 2500. I would get a 2500 but if on a budget get a 1k. I got a 2000 classic myself and quite happy with it. I really like that 2500 though.

properly equipped, the 1000 is the most capable mpc outside the 4000.

I have had the 1k for almost a year and I would not buy it again. As far as effects and its abilities go it is a machine worth all the money it costs, but the pads are ****, they returned me the money and I bought 2kxl and asr-10 for it, which I consider to be much better than the 1k. I would do it again, i feel much more comfortable with the 2kxl, there is a higher love factor, i would say.

i had a 1k for a while. sold it and I just got a 2KXL the blue kind with card readers. I'm VERY happy with it!

Just in terms of construction it's much better and solid. You can bang on the XL like a real instrument and play it the way it's meant to be played!
