That was your choice I didn't decied to switch mid stream and I didn't waste your time arguing. They always pay. And happy becuase they know that was thier choice. Here is a hint how I stay in buisness:
You pay a deposit to get scedualed then the Bal is due at the start of the session.
I have yet to come up short. I have my wife watch the clock then tell me when time is about up. Stop in time to save thier music or comercial what ever and if they want more time they pay up front.

I just don't play with the cheddar ya dig....

Don't forget to add the cost of the computer, sound card, monitor, desk, midi controller and ACID. When you add it all up the MPC is much, much less expensive.

I agree, whatever floats you boat, but why are you coming on an MPC forum talking about how much better software is? I personally switched from software to hardware and I'm much more creative.

I still use both, and will continue to do so. No reason (no pun intended) to limit yourself.

for assembling, editing, and labour intensive jobs like batch converting ill use a pc....

for composition its all mpc/analogue...just cant work in the digital domain that way......

the thing a lot of people forget when they go on about these new all in one software master pieces is after you forked out for the pc and the software if you ever wanna expand you find you often have to spend more ofn mem upgrades, maybe change your processor, then realize that xp wont run the new plug ins you've bought........and all thats not taking in my most hated aspect about pc composition-

BLOODY FAN NOISE!

Couldnt have put it better. This is, I think, the most productive and fun way to work. You aint gotta deal with all the BS on hardware and just get down to makin beats from your SOUL!!!! 8)

its about feeling and acid doesnt have none. en ingles basically after using 7 times of that shiet ul probably go a little insane and be charged with manslaughter.........................

plus acid does something horrible to the sound when you bounce down a whole track (at least the version i played with did)......hw (with the exception of the mpc4k) does what it says its gonna do and you dont need extra ram, a faster processor, the latest service pack, the latest drivers, an asio compliant sound card and software patches to run it.....

Hey, if you want to go get prefabricated loops, or have a
computer stretch your ish for you. That's your call.
I don't like to work like that, but it don;t matter, cus
IT"S ALL ABOUT THE FINISHED PRODUCT when it comes to
production. I like an MPC and protools, but that's ME, not YOU.
Also, dudes be using fruity loops.
Um, if you ask me, that shit is whack, because a person with NO rhythm,
NO training, and NO talent can make a beat that sounds passable on that thing. Downloding shit from kaza and having it auto stretched is real whack. HOWEVER, that is my opinion, and not a law.
I will say it again, it's all about the finished product,
and if you make something hot with acid, so be it!
What buying PROFESSIONAL GEAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT IS
STANDARDS. THE CHEAPER THE GEAR GETS, THE MORE AND MORE
PEOPLE YOU HAVE SATURATING THE GAME, and that is real bad
no matter HOW you look at it. But, MPCs are no exception.
THE THING IS, WHEN WE KEEP A CERTAIN NDUSTRY STANDARD,
YOU HAVE TO REALLY INVEST YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY, AND BE
SERIOUS ABOUT PRODUCING. Now, any mother**cker with a PC
thinks he's a hip-hop producer, Video Director, Video editor,
Photographer, marketing genius...everything!
I got a message for people like that:

NOW THAT ANY RETARD WITH $30 CAN MAKE BEATS W/ FRUITYLOOPS,
YOU GOTTA STEP YOUR GAME UP. YOU GOTTA PUSH THE ENVELOPE,
AND BE SERIOUS W/ YOUR SHIT. STOP TRYING TO GET OFF EASY.

It don't matter what you use, but just looping something and putting drums on it ain't gonna cut it no more. oh yeah, acid ni**as, STAY ON THAT TECHNO ISH!!!!!
just kidding, but seriously, it ain't WHAT you use, it's HOW you use it.
If you are a real producer, you sould be able to do a VARIETY of things
to make a solid product, and thats a DEFINITION, not an opinion.

u heard that song threat on the black album by jay z?..... guess what.... it was made by fruity loops!!!!!! I think 9th wonder produced that album ,so like you said its now waht you use but how you use it..

Word up, 9th wonder is the Millz!!
the last project we did has music by Little Brother,
so I had to do some file transfer ish over the phone
with 9th. So, let me assure you, he also uses ProTools.
Without the output into PT and a good mix, your looking at a whole different animal. Quality mixing and engineering are a HUGE part of this game, and some dudes just be outputing directly from acid or fruity AND IT SOUNDS GARBAGE. There are also UNSEEN limiter settings on the output of reason, etc, that I think sound like ish, but are enough to get by.
That's why, there is a lack of signature mixing sound out there. Everyone using the same ish, and doing as LITTLE as POSSIBLE to get by.

But hey, along the lines of what I'm saying, it don't matter
how it goes down, cus if 9th used a triton, he'd be doing
good work as well. Now if a shitty n**ga uses fruity loops,
it's gonna be sh**ty. My thing is just this, if we all were
using cheap shit, then there would be no standards.
I stand by my shit.

If you serious about this,
you probably bought a laptop to produce with, and
you may have some photoshop files and outlook on it...
NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

I think it's good that people experiment and get into this. And often, that means low-cost, low-commitment gear. I started on a dj sampler and 4track, with gemini turntables. Talk about THE WORST!!
but that was before DAW recording was the standard.
I wanna underline the fact that I don't give a fizzle what you use to
make beautiful ish. My real point is that all this ultra low-cost ish
saturates the game with people who really don't care about music, and think 50 bucks will turn them into a legend. SHIT, ANDRE FROM OUTKAST USES REASON ALL THE TIME. It doesn't mean everyone else should, cus I
gurantee you: you can't make reason sound like Andre, Dig?

Do I think everyone should buy an MPC? No way, but if cats researched and bought gear and software, rather than just getting ish free and making a beat or two here and there, maybe people wouldn;t be COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME ABOUT HOW WHACK THE CLIMATE OF MUSIC IS THESE DAYS...just something to think about...

Yeah but it if you got talent and a good idea, it dont matter what you use. I know what your sayin, bout how many of these herbs really get deals and make beats for a livin. It saturates the game with hobbyists, and they really aint gettin out there. I think if you got skills you got skills and however the thought gets out of your head and onto tape, so be it. I really dont like Outkast, but Andre writes all his music with a guitar and a piano first then translates that to a DAW. That kid whos makin beats on a $30 fl will never be heard on a serious level so it wont affect us that do this ish for a livin and really do our homework, and incorparate these programs into our work and make our lives easier. I love mixin down on ACID beacuse I have tons of good effects and I use it like a hooptie protools. FL is some kiddie ish unless u spend $150 beans and then it still is limited. As long as you define your sound, lets not get all worried and frustrated that some weak a$$hole wants to pretend hes little jon and might take your job. I saw let the chumps have there fun. If they want to do this seriously then they gotta pay dues and learn the hard way. IF you screw with FL long egnough youll see that ish gets tired after a while. You will want to do something more and use something a little more sophisticated.
PEACE
