FIX YOUR DEAD PADS - PICS & INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE

a couple of my pads have gotten loose again - i said i'd tell you guys. all in all, my last fix (at 100% success rate) lasted about 6 or 7 months. good, but not good enough.

we need a hardware fix from akai. all sensors on one sheet, NO MOVING GRAPHITE SQUARES.

Nym, my repairs only lasted a few months as well. So I decided to repair them the same way you did (with the carbon glued to the underside of the rubber). Unfortunately that didn't work either. The carbon remains under the pad, but I'd have to push the pads down extremely hard to get any response at all. So those pads are useless when it comes to using them to play, and barely enough to use for any system functions. I've exhausted all possibilities to repair them at this point. It's definitely more trouble than it's worth.

i'm onto something right now that'll probably cost under 20 bucks but looks to be very successful.

Keep at it Nym! You're doing good so far... especially that you're only in the beginning stage of the project. Eventually with a few more revisions, everything will be solid.

After reading this a couple of times over, it seems yuo guys are making real progress, i need this pad fix bad like yuo guys obviously do. Been a technical hack im not willing to try stuff thats temporary as its not worth the risk of me breaking something. Wish i could help . thanks heaps for sharing all the work and experimentaton.

well i put my order in to get the ones from akai...they ended up being $7cad each, and i ordered 16...tell me...was that stupid? should i just order 8 or somthin...damn akai......DAMN AKAI!

has anyone tried the double stick foam?

So the replacement pads from VST, are they the same pads that the unit comes with, cause my pads are pretty messed, and i need a fix really bad. Don't care about paying the 100-150$, as long as it'll fix the damn thing.
I haven't opened the unit, and the pics on this forum aren't up anymore, so I don't know what it looks like inside, but it seems from what I read is that there is a sheet underneed the pads, and replacing it with the VST won't help at all as that's not where the problem lies. Am I right? Or will my unit be the same as if I got a brand new one?

Any1 found a fix yet? Really, I'm desperate.

yeah i have found a stable and damn near unbreakable solution that gets the most out of our pads. i'll be posting a how to online, plus there will be instructions with my kit.

Does the pad sensitivity work on your solution, or is it full volume?
