Discuss the various methods you use in music production, from compressor settings to equipment type.

Say I have a sample that fades in-- it takes a few seconds for the sample to reach its "normal" amplitude-- and I want the levels to be alike throughout the whole sample, what should I do? I realize the MPC won't do this, but it shouldn't be too difficult on SF or whatever.
Thanks.

just highlight the section that fades in -in wavelab or sf(wich ever )
and normalize it to the same level as the normal part of the file.

Hilight part of the loop that is riding at the max level and sustain it.
I do that sometimes with synths, strings and pianos.

For a drum loop though that would be tricky.

What is the actual sample of?

I'm just asking in general, instrument samples, though-- not drums. The normalizing thing should work to some extent, thanks.

Tried using your attack and decay from your paramater screen?
And to add to the SoundForge tip. that was a good one I'd only have to add try compression and/or EQ ing

Sure. But that didn't solve my problem.
