So - For a long time I've been wanting the MPC3000 - I currently have the 2000XL wich I'm selling.
So basicly what i want to ask is; am I an idiot for buying a 3000 vs. something like a 2500, 4000 or even a 1000?
Does the 3000 have ANY features that those 3 dosen't?

Thanks.

The 3000 is a bad sucka. The 2500 would be my next choice. If you rely on graphic editing and like having newer features the 2500 is worth a look. I use the 3000 and the 1000 . The 3000 sounds great but so does the 1000 in it's own way . You can usually sell a 3000 for what you pay for it and it is worth to try out. I switched from a 2000xl and I personally missed alot of the features so I bought a 1000 which has more features now with the new OS than the 2000xl the 1000 is similar to the 2500.The 3000 is bulit like a tamnk and it is a great nostalgic piece with a signature sound. If you miss the 2000xl later get a 1000 on the cheap down the lineand have the best of both worlds.

If u brought it because someone on this site was saying how nice it is --- then yes u are an idiot. If u researched it and figured out u like it by yourself then your not an idiot.

Personally, I would buy an older machine like the 60, which I got. The 12-bit sound is amazing. Still, u can resample on the xl to 12-bit/8-bit.

But really, it's a matter of taste.
