Check the recording level, maybe it's too high and you are getting distorted sampled sound in result.Or maybe it's too low?

do u record off a computer... of a cd player or off a turntable or wat?
cuz i got a loss of sound quality when i record from my computer.. but i dont do that anymore lol because i dont know how to do it right... but it also might have somethin to do with ure connectors the way they are set up or maybe even the mixer or sound card(computer) u are sampling off
a lot of possibilities

yes it is recording from the computer, sound just looses quality not loud or low,not even distorted...just picture a clean wave file then wen i record to the mpc the quality has changed as if it is 64kb mp3 or sumthin.....

a couple years ago, i got a small box that amplifies and cleans up the sound coming out of my comp. i used to have that problem until i got this little box---that plugs into my comp (output)via usb and has a 1/4inch jack on the other side, which goes to my mixer.

the problem is is that i have no idea what this box is called. its some sort of external sound card, i think. its not labeled at all. i'll check when i get home.

i got it from circuit city a while back for maybe $40.00.
sorry i cant be more helpful.

try another cable, what sound card you using? perhaps the settings on the sound card could be played with ie I have a RME sound card and I can go from 44.1 to 96 khz check that and check the bit rate, one thing to consider again is if you have the quality max'd on the sound card the computer may have latency if using logic or cubase etc hit me back.
