I have read the manual and played around with it, but is there a footswitch position that lets me start the sequence and if I step on it again, takes me back to the top of the sequence? I know there is one that lets me stop and start, but never gets me back to the top. thanks

Set it to play start... I think.

In this mode, it just continues from where you stopped, does not recycle back to top. thanks

I don't know which OS you are running, but the latest JJ edition allows both PLAY and PLAY START as footswitch options. I just checked and it does indeed do what it says on the screen. However, you do need a second footswitch for STOP if you use those options. The PLAY/STOP option only continues the way you described. I can't find a PLAY START/STOP option to use with a single footswitch, which is kinda silly, but that's all it's got at the moment.

I had an idea.
If you sample the whole sequence and assign the sample to a pad as note on?
It's half what you want. because you have to hold the pedal.

I was wondering if a momentary switch would do the job.
If there is a kind of footswitch that holds the action when you just
press it and when you press it again is like you release a pad.

Any ideas?

Has anyone tried BOSS fs-5l footswitch to play pads.
I think it might be the solution to the problem of a looped sampled that you
have to hold the pad on note on mode.

I mean it's a latching switch and not momentary like the fs-5u.
Haven;t tried it but i think it works different than a pad.
You step on it is on step again is off. Not momentary.
