hey i jus got a mpc 2000xl a few days ago and i load samples from my record player by hitting shift-sample then just recording from there is there another/better way to sample?[/b]

Well the XL is an sampler so what u are doing is a great thing. But if u want to get samples into your machine other than the RECORD IN route then u could load .wav or .snd files up via your XL's internal drive(floppy, zip,ect..-depends on which one u have installed) or use an external SCSI drive(zip, jaz, cd drive, ect...).
