It's too short maybe.
Your in the wrong screen maybe.
Your editing the wrong sample maybe.

Just something to think about.

Are you using the auto slicer or the trim menu? There is no "Trim" function, so you must be in the edit function of the trim window. The trim window just lets you define trims. If you want to cut a piece of it out, highlight the trim and go to edit->section->new sound, and make sure you assign that new sound to a pad via the program menu (it wont be assigned to anything by default).

If all you want is the beginning of a sample to be played, you may want to think about saving your precious memory and just change the overlap from Poly to Note Off (or Mono if that works for your tune)

Also like lamp said, it may be too short to hear anything audible. If you've confirmed you're doing it right with what I just said, cut the attack and decay of the sample to 0 to see if you can hear any more of it.

yea i do the shift 5 or whatever? for trim or edit or what it is.... then i define where i want to trim off and hit do it and it seems like it trims but when it re-displays the sound its the same... i figured to go into zone edit and just highlight what i dont want and hit delete zone as a way around it... but it still is buggin me that it wont do it the other way.... appreciate the responses
