Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By aeko Thu Dec 28, 2006 6:59 pm
When I'm trying to use my MPC2000 with Battery or a synth or anything, the pads send out different MIDI notes (IE: The notes aren't sequential according to the pad numbers). This is so irritating and maybe I'm missing something or a way to change this but the Note Numbers seem so random. Can I somehow remap these or something?

Example (Pad # - MIDI Note #):
A01 - 37
A02 - 36
A03 - 42
A04 - 82

this is just how it is...u can change them in the program screen anyway, but it's quite time consuming

I guess I could remap them all in the Program window and then load that program everytime I turned on my MPC. That would work right?

yes i've done this before, works fine when u make ur own pgm inside the mpc, but there's still the problem if u load external pgm file....but solves most of the cases...

btw dont know what mpc u have, if u have 2kxl, there's auto-chromatic assign - it orders the notes as going on a keyboard (including black notes) - so if u trying to lay down a sample all across the keybeard it works fine...if u want to do progressions on using pads it's somehow different - dont know how, coz i own the 2k classic :)
