Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
Bytrue29 Sun Mar 14, 2004 10:47 pm
I only have a MPC2000.
Whenever i use my keyboard with it, it records fine but on the playback , the beat(from the MPC plays on my speakers) while the sounds from my keyboard only plays through my keyboard speaker.
How can i have both (keyboard and MPC) sound come from my MPC speakers.

Also, how would i be able to record my music.
Thank

MIDI only transmits note data (key pressed on/off) and there is no audible signal passing through there.

in other words, to combine several different audio outputs into one what you need is a mixer. depending on your budget and how much you plan to expand your setup will be the deciding factors that determine which mixer you buy. me personally, I have a mackie 1604vlz but yourself with a more modest setup could get away with alot less channels (unless you plan on expanding and using those 8outs on the mpc then you should get as many channels as you need).

if you are just looking to do something up quick without too much expense try using a dj mixer to combine the two signals.

this topic has been discussed several times in the past. you should search your queries there first before starting a new thread.

hope that helps,

Connect the OUTS from the MPC, keyboard, and whatever else u have to the INPUTS on the Roland VS-1880. Connect your monitors/speakers or headphones to the OUTPUT on the Roland VS-1880. Now everything will play out those monitors/speakers or headphones. Real simple. I use my Roland VS-2000cd as an mixer and recorder.
