Battery life??

hello, just tried out my mpc500 with AA Duracell rechargeable batteries. The batteries are all charged up. When i use the mpc500 within 5 minutes i am getting the low battery warning on the screen. I know this thing cant eat batteries that fast????

The low battery warning is adjustable so you determine when you want this warning to appear. It sounds like yours is set pretty high. try setting it to like 6V or so

thanks/ I went to the screen in Other mode and lowered the battery voltage to 5.00. So this is normal then? even if you have fresh batteries , you will get the low battery notice if the adjustments in Other mode are above 5.00?? Its wierd cause when this happened to me i ignored the low battery flashing screen , kept working then lost all my work when the mpc froze, with some wierd message on the display. I cannot recall what the display said but everything froze.

ok now after lowering it to 5.00, no more low battery warning, but it crashed and the screen says "CPU ADDR (write) PC(883f0000)

also when using batteries a annoying high pitch whine is heard, I know someone else did mention this however.

Maybe the batteries are not charged fully

I do get a little whine but it's only when I press certian buttons and It's not all that loud.......sounds like it's those batteries, Try charging them fully or buying new ones this should take care of the problem.

i charged them fully. All 6 are Duracell rechargeable, but two of them are 2500mhz, and the other 4 are 1800mhz/ Maybe that could be the problem.

I'm using energizer rechargeables 4 2200's and 2 2500's. I get about 6 hours of use out of em'.

thanks- i called akai tech support yesterday and they told me it is a problem with my rechargeable batteries., I was using Duracell rechargeables. So i bought regular energizer lithium batteries and so far so good. I dont even hear the whine anymore when scrolling. Also tech support told me that they might post on the akai site not to use any rechargeable batteries.

by the way if anyone is having success with rechargeable batteries, be it no crashing , high pitch whine sound when scrolling etc. let us know the model # for the batteries.
