not to be a total @zzhole, but why would anyone wanna use free samples everyone uses? the pleasure of beatmaking is founding your own sheet from the crates and makin something that sound original

:roll: who really gives a shit. With layering and creative eqing and compression, you can use any drum sound to suit any production. Ill listen to those free packs, use other sample cds, vinyl breakbeats, old vintage drum machine samples, whatever to use for my production. So thanks for the link.

i agree with dude actually..

for me, part of my satisfaction in making music lies in the fact that everything you hear in my beat is a sample that IIIIIII found in the bins..

i havnt always been like this, but its definitely how i've evolved.

like 1987 says.. i guess i give a shiit

I agree with 1987 and binger.

Reason why, I'll use whatever I like and that fits my vision.
I have taken many straight orchetstral loops before I aint gonna lie.

I also love the integrity of straight forward composition as 1987 gets at.

I will personally give more credit to someone who makes their own composition though. That's the direction I've been leaning in for the past few years though, my own stuff and my own loops..

SInce I haven't had enough time to come up with my own extensive drum library i will use drum breaks that i downloaded from kits and chop them up.

but everything else is samples that i have personally found on records/tapes/cd's.

i think i definitely have enough drums right now to get me by until i have time to spend coming up with dope kits.

I definitely take pride in what I do. It just does'nt feel right for me to buy a hiphop drum kit from the internet or whatnot and callin them my own beats.

Im not saying its wrong to do that..theres alot of dope beats thats been made from preset shiit but thats just not me

i'm with 1987 on this one.

if you donwload/buy premade kits and shit you prolly use loops from them huh too? well, guess what, you didn't make even half that beat then. i hear alot of beats on the net and i hear the same drums everywhere, i hear the same loops, most of these people dont' even chop they samples.
