Just grab some of your favorite CDs... chopping is part of the fun... It might be what you need to be doing anyway since you just got your MPC. Check the forum for different stuff there are downloads all over the place. I get some kits from here... but I really like creating my own... Digging is where its at.

I SEEM TO HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING THINGS TO SAMPLE...IN ORDER FOR ME TO CHOP A CLAP DOESN'T IT HAVE TO STAND ALONE WITH OUT THE BACKGROUND SOUNDS IN IT?

but you see that is the science... trust, you may find clean hits snares and kicks and get inspired, I use to go crazy with "keyboard kits and sample cds" but when you start digging for them soul ish... you'll feel like a new producer... even more like a original producer... something to be defined by... air, grit, noise can be filtered out by using techniques... hell you can flip the word hell in a mic and make it sound like a drum... the trackstars... collipark... david banner... all use tricks to define their sounds... and in hip hop... you can't go wrong with banging drums... why you yelling... you mad... ? Try high cut off filters for those claps... low cuts for your kicks... a drum or sound can be anything you can imagine... AKAI website has clean stuff all ready programed for down load if you want though. without a layer or two... to me the sound corny. oh well welcome to production...

you can google free wav samples or something like that. there are tons of free samples out there. try doing some searching. theres a lot of crap samples too, but the search for that special sound is fun. at least in my opinion...

actually I have heard of it and I downloaded some samps from mpc-sounds but for 30bucks the few sample I got were'nt worth it... (too lazy) that's funny dude...
