can anyone tell me where my samples go after i record them?

as soon as i press keep, they dont go in the program area like theyre supposed to, nor do i know where/what directory they go to after i save them. im following this dumbass owner's manual line for line and im still clueless.

if anyone can explain it in terms for an idiot i'd appreciate it.

they're in your mpc, but you won't be able to actually view a list of the samples loaded. read the part of the manual "assigning to pads" or something like that

the samples are saved temporarily in the RAM so if you switch off the mpc they will be lost.When saving,you can choose a dir to save to.

And what about the Trim Mode screen?

i know the samples can be loaded on to any of the pads, b/c that's exactly what i do. afterwards, while being in one of the unused sequences (which is what the manual tells be in), i press the pad i assign it to, and i hear no playback. unless im doing something wrong while doing that part of the function.

i know the mpc erases the samples when it gets turned off, if i actually wanted to save it, i have a cf so that's nothing.

unfortunately i can only learn by being hands-on rather than reading a manual. the only dvd tutorial that's out is f%$*^ng $150!!!!! i just payed two g's for this shiet! im broke!!!

i didnt ask anyone to hold my hand, like i said i've been reading the manual. outside of that, i cant ask for help if im stuck somewhere? wth? I WORK TWO FULL TIME JOBS. i cant say i have all the time in the world tobang out beats as quickly as i'd like to.

Oh, you're being picky huh?

Of course it's not exactly a list, but you can scroll through each recorded sample easily, pretty much like through a list.

But obviously that's not even the problem. mpcrenai, if you change to an unused sequence, make sure your program is actually assigned to the active track.
Also make sure to try the Full Level button, maybe you're just pressing too softly.

regardless, i still dont know where they when they dont assign them, and i dont care about there anymore im passed it. i've been really hittin the manual up like crazy, i was also placed in another jam until last nght when i started messing w/ the filtering option for my samples. before i messed w/ that, everything i sampled from vinyl sounded shietty and echo-like.

mind you, im not using a mixer, just a line-out stanton t50. i was told that's the samples dont sound 100%, but somethin tells me if i keep messin w/ it, i can make it sound perfect.

... so you was told - but you do not have the patience to actually listen what people are trying to say to you here?

back to your problem: your samples will record way too low if you don´t use a mixer - thank the riaa for that - so you might barely hear them.
to actually find them set your empty program to the empty sequence you are using -> record a sample -> keep -> assign to a pad -> goto progam mode and find your samples assiged to where you put them.
if you just keep a sample without assigning it you will find it either in trim screen (normaly it is there if you go to trim directly after recording) or you´ll find it in program mode if you hit a pad, move the cursor to one of the layer fields 1-4 and then use the data wheel to go through the "list" of avialable samples.

maybe you should have asked someone for advice before spending that much cash on something you thought might do the hits for you...
