Quick question.

Quick Q...
I just got my MPC1000 and have yet to RTFM...
I am getting "Insufficient Memory" dialogues left and right, and my MPC seems to be working off of its internal memory, not the 2gig CF card I put in.

How would I be able to get the MPC to work off the CF card so I can stop getting this error??


I'm going to RTFM soon. I just wanna get going for now with some Indian tabla samples I just got.....

The CF card is for storage of files, not for memory. Internel memory needs to be upgraded with a RAM chip.

I see... shit, I definitely didn't see that coming. 16 mb is chump change for my needs.

So I guess I'ma need to take it to the shop and get it opened up and shit. Damn.

Is there a way to at least take what's on there now and throw it on the CF card to save space?

If I could be directed even to another thread where this is handled that'd ne nice.... I tried searching for this.

theres no need to take it to the shop. theres a panel on the bottom of the machine that you open up and install the ram. its just like installing laptop memory. it takes like 10 seconds tops. and you can purchase regular laptop memory for about a 1/3 of the cost of the akai memory. the hard drive is just as easy too if you decide to get one.
