Deleting samples

Whats the best way to delete samples/files? I would usually just hook it up to my Mac and open the file, and drag off wav's and stuff I dont want. Ive tried it 3 times, after I unplug the usb, all the files are on the mpc still, I restart... still there!

Not only that... but I had reformatting my mpc, started it up and held erase and wiped out my files to start fresh. I HATE the files that are programmed on the mpc, those samples annoy me they wouldnt delete, so I went to erase/format INTERNAL MEMORY, I hit ok, it goes back to the load/save menu and my FLASH CARD is totally erased, I selected INTERNAL MEMORY! What did I do wrong? I hate this pos.

MEMORY CARD/HARD DISK try to connect to a PC and delete the files... I got a mac and a PC and when I deleted on the MAC... It created a trash bin... (?) don't know whats that is about... so I connected to a pc and deleted the files that way... (I had to moved the trash bin folder to the desk top then deleted it that way... I couldn't delete it straight off the MPC... via USB, with my PC)

INTERNAL MEMORY I heard the only way was to replace it with other files... I posted before... I have my Hi Hats in the internal memory... So I made a program... named it (AUTOHAT1) then saved it... but wait...

also in the internal memeory are sequences and songs... and they have kits assigned to them... You may erase the sounds and program by just saving programs and samples...but you aslo have to erase the sequences and songs too!!! (the kits will come up with a "?" behind them...) So if you auto load a Kit from the internal memory... you load default sequences as well... step by step...

1. turn off auto load... restart

2. (empty sequences... no kit... cool, build one if you like for auto load...)
NOTE: saving mulitple kits like crazy won't work... I think the max is 3.7MB (thats why I choose Hi Hats... they go in all my beats... and their personalized)

3. go to save in internal memory...

4. Save the songs a squences (no information right?) will take a minute...

5. next save programs and samples (your auto load kit).. will take a minute...

when your done... select auto load and try it... if you look in the internal memery folders you will see some garbge like #############... its cool though the stuff is there... now turn off and turn on...

PS...

whenever your not using your flash card in your unit... remove it... just place it back in to load and save... It a practice to avoid F##k ups...

Ive been popping out my flash card while not in use. When I first got the mpc I thought it was actually reading off the flash card while making samples and songs. That isnt the case though is it... I tried and tried again to get those stock samples off with no success It was a nice shot though... ::Sigh:: If I would go to Internal memory/ Utility, the only thing that comes up is "device" X, this is with no flash card in, I hit DO IT, and system error comes up. This is on the JJ 3.06 OS
