Does recorded track mutes only play in TM screen?

I have been holding to os 4.15 because I have not been wanting to deal with the new features I don't need and the associated new bugs.

I really don't like the way JJ is going after 4.15, especially with how he removed the ability to use the recorded track mutes on the main sequence page.

My question is, did he remove that functionality, or do I have to activate it in a different way? Not being able to use the recorded track mutes on the main sequence page or in song mode is a real hassle for me when I'm trying to build up and sequence my tracks.

How do you guys use the recordable track mutes now?

no idea, but i have a more favored method

i like the idea of track mutes, but i don't like the implementation. instead, i used to just delete the stuff in the sequencer when i wanted a "mute"

this works, but is time consuming

but then qlinks got a lot better and i started thinking, why not just set the entire track to "LEVEL" and use the qlink as a track mute? record in qlink TRACK data (esp now that you can graphic edit it) and have your stuff come in and out w/ a more human cut rather than a sudden stop. i find this quick, easy, and more convenient than traditional track mutes.

but say when you have your sequences finished in song mode, after you convert them you can just do the mutes from the mute window

There is no change to the function of track mute of a main screen.
However, the display method of WINDOW changed.

The following windows will be displayed if the WINDOW key is pressed pressing F5 [MUTE].

Press Window key + F5[MUTE];
[MAIN] screen WINDOW key + F5[MUTE];

Nym, that's also a good suggestion.

on my mpc1k, jjos 4.27, the recorded mutes only play as recorded when in the track mute screen.

but switch to the main window and they don't happen. i think its probably intentional on jj's part.

AWESOME... i didnt know you could hear the track mutes in MAIN PLAY MODE! now thats what im talkin about....
i checked.. track mutes also work in song mode! i dont know why this is new to me...but ill take it. that was a tricky screen to get to.

definently a tricky screen to get used to. wonder why he chose that instead of the typical mpc style?

thats what i do sometimes too, but as some of my songs have many tracks with many samples in it, it's timeconsuming again. i didn't find out how to assign the level option to more than one sample at a time, is this possible? that would be great, put alle samples (say 5 or 6) from one track to q2 - level and fade the whole track instead of only one sample.
but i think this is not possible as you can only choose one sample at a time.

Not sure if you can do more than 1 track at a time but like nym said, you set the q link to entire track and level and then the slider will effect every sample on the program/track

erm, this could be what i'm looking for. how do you assign it to a whole track?

when your on/in slider mode you normally hit the pad you want the slider to have effect on dont you, i pritty sure you just arrow over to where it says what pad you are on and then just scroll the data wheel all the way over to the right past D16 to entire track
