RACK

I am about to make a complex purchase, Can anyone help me I'm thinking about buying a proteuse 2000. Maybe it's a silly move on my behalf maybe not. Or it just a newbie spending money on nothing. I would really like to get a mofit, but thats to costly. therefore i'm going to get the next best thing in my eyes. If anyone have any better suggestion get at me...

The Proteus 2000 is a Very good buy.

Also take a look at the Roland JV-1080. It's very expandable on the cheap as the price on expansion cards have dropped big time.

Anything else yall would like to highlight for some good rack sound modules on the cheap? I already have an 88 key midi controller, and am looking for a sound module to compliment my 2k classic. The proteus and jv-1080 look like they could be had for around the 200 dollar mark. Are there any other rack modules around this price point that are worth mentioning?

I like the Novation Bass Station rackmount synth. Its not multitimbral but it is analogue, fat sounding and easy to program. It also lets you save your presets and it is cheap. I tend to just sample the sounds out of it instead of triggering it via midi so I can layer them up. For a little more cash a waldorf pulse is a good buy.

u want bread and butter sounds or synth? i use the waldorf xt rack, it makes some wiked sounds & covers all yours vintage key sounds to pure digital ****,

May I ask what's bread and butter sounds? I only have the mpc 2k classic, and keystation 88es (just 88keys, no knobs), looking to put the controller to work before I invest in mixer/daw.

A bass synth would be a nice compliment, as well as something like a rhodes, but a spectrum of sound might be the most practical for me... I'd like some type of hardware to keep my keys occupied for a while, for about $200 bucks.

Any other ideas?
