jj should put the 'velocity>pitch' window into the 'pad+11' screen,
like it is for the 'program' window ('mode'+'pad7', 'tune xxvalue'+' window').

it would be good to be able to aply 'whole' on the program vel>pitch values.

16. Real time timestretch/pitch shift using Q-link knobs/sliders on samples in memory
17. Piano roll edit for MIDI/keygroup tracks in addition to the grid edit for drum tracks
18. Click/metronome: routable to individuals outputs w/ volume control and selectable sounds

exept for realtime timestreatching, auto assign multible samples to a program in one pass(great idea) and eq in mixer (we have eq in the filters) everything on this list can be done on the MPC4ooo ...

!! need a new os or a new mpc :)...

anayway hope the 4k will get a OS update sometime soon ... cus u 1k-ats have been catching up a mad features lately ... and the last 4k os update was late '05 :roll:

You must have missed the beginning of the thread. I stated that many of these features are available in the MPC 4000, 3000, and 2000XL. I already have an MPC 3000 and 2500..so a new MPC is not what I personally need...but I would like to see many of the features added to a new OS, or the next highend MPC that I will mos def buy when its released. Hopefully, it will be in the $3000 plus price range so I will have less people to fight with :wink:

werd yo.. :*: couple things that i was thinking would be nice additions to the already holy jj os...

.. mute memory ((snap shots of track mutes.. maybe played back in from a new 16 level mode or changed via midi))

.. quick double sequence function ((main -> window: "double sequence", once, twice or thrice))... while your there it would also be nice to have the option to convert a sequence to double tempo

.. in the program mode 11, it would be lovely if there were fields for sample start and end.

.. in slider mode it would be cool if you could change the step amount of the slider ramp. so it could only be 16 or 32 or 4 steps instead of only the 1 - 127.. so if you were in filter mode the slider could only have 16, or 4 or what ever values that would be spread across the slider. or if you had it set to start time and a step value of 16, the start points would hit the beats of a 1 bar loop, kind of thing. i'm finding it hard to explain, but hopefully you get the idea, please all mighty JJ!

.. this may sound rediculous, but I'd like to be able to attach a note to sequences and projects, just a sentence or 2 for reminders..

.. i haven't updated since 4.15, but i'd definetly like to see more video games...joust would be dope, maybe something for drawing etch-a-sketch style with the sliders while oscallating sample loops. lode runner. xaxon. gauntlet! ;)

.. other that that it would be cool if he could ad an alarm clock mode so i can get started on my beat first thing in the morning.
:arrow: :lol:

yo jarhome, how do you make such crazy cash writing on forums all day?
you get paid by the post :?: what ever it is, your definetly adorable!

peace out,
mad silly
crazy props

hey jahrome,
with the mpc3000 what were the big features that gave it its strengths 4u?

also the mpc4000, is that the biggest akai have done?
u ever been tempted to get one too, for me i've always liked the ideology of the mpc range since the mpc60 - i rate hardware highly - and value a well built (real) interface feel, but if i was to expect lots of 'studio in a box' functions in a machine (and they get big these mpc's!), i might have decided to get a computer.....but now even with just a 1k, i really think i would have got more out of the high end mpc's than i first would have expected.

i really like the fader step/division idea, and loved zaxxon, but i doubt the latter will ever materialise- mpc games are a total waste of music production resource!

the only thing i would keep from these game ideas, for a new kind of function.......is the pixel motion to sample triggers, maybe, with various (tank pong!) games that feature a few simple pixel shapes bouncing around a user-drawn (like the etch-a-scetch idea) maze - triggering attached user sounds.

It's the holiday season...school break and a vacation from working. Buying music production gear doesn't really take crazy cash...anyone that knows how to buget their money can buy themselves some toys to play with and talk about them all day in a forum :wink: (also...most of the gear I own was purchased using my MPC hustle money...I really do miss my eBay days).

The MPC 3000 doesn't really have any big features. Its pretty basic and straight forward. But it is a solid MPC that I used extensively until last year when I picked up the MPC 2500. I did own the MPC 4000 (the biggest and most feature filled MPC to date) but wasn't really feeling it that much so I got rid of it. The same was true with the MV-8000.

The MPC 2500 can be fitted with the optional CDM25 CD-RW/DVD Rom drive. We can currently burn audio CDs using CD-Rs, but cannot backup or save programs, samples, sequences, etc. This is a much needed improvement. Also, older MPCs such as the MPC 3000, and 2000XL can read Akai CD Roms, but this isn't possible with the MPC 2500. Akai/JJ needs to add this ASAP.

hehe, yea, i was joking about adding more classic video games :)
but I do like the idea of little loopy music games that can be used to play and manipulate sounds and/or create loops in different ways that could be like a primative video game or performance mode. But I'm sure JJ's plate is full adding more production style features and killing bugs. 4.30 is looking nice. Although I can't tell what the difference will be between direct record and the new audio tracks that will be in 4.30.

a global midi shift / scale mode

like on old analog sequencers

all midi tracks could increase or decrease
by a certain number of steps laid out on the pads

Pad9 = +1 semi tones
Pad10 = +2
pad14 = +5
Pad16 = +8

pad5 = -1
pad6 = -2
pad1 = -5
pad4 = -8 semi tones

returning to the original pitch could be done by
pressing the difference on the opposite pad
original, +5, -2, -3/original

this would allow for all of your midi signals
to shift together in melody, making your composition
much more musical.

[if this is easy to implement, a modal version
with major, minor, phrygian, mixolydian and more,
can be applied in the same pad scaling manner]
