mpc 1000 direct recording

I have turtables at home and want to record some short scratches and vocals(from records) to my mpc sequences.

I want to do that with direct recording to each sequenece.

Unfortunately i couldnt figuere out how to do that with jjos 3.06 and read that this function still sucks in jj os in several forums. Im really disapointet of the jj os because i downloaded it only for this. (of course I will find there many more things but this is a basic function for me)

Is that possible to record like on a multitracker to sequences(without pads)? Without annoying workarounds and stuff? Any tutorials..?

I hope you dont confirm me that this function is shit in jjos

i did some scratching by direct recording in os 4.14.

as i said in another message, it is difficult to monitor the sound
to delete bad scratches and it seems track 61-64 don't work in mode song.
It really needs to be improved but it's possible

I don't believe direct record was introduced until after V3, so you will indeed have a lot of trouble getting it to work in 3.06!


I've only used it a little bit... has some quirks but it's still coming along..

I believe you need to use it in combination with INPUT THRU if you want to monitor from the MPC output.

so lets say direct recording still sucks I hope akai will fix this bug, if thats availabel in an official os i will switch back to akai os

not like i know.. but i dont see akai's os EVER competing with jj .. he just pulled so far ahead of akai outta nowhere... hes on the grind while akai sleeps.. besides. direct recording works great for me... ever since like 4.0...

I've had no problems with Direct Recording! Works fine for me.

I use it more like a sketch pad than anything else. If you want to record some scratches, just record them to an empty track on your DAW or whatever you use to record with.

i don"t want to use a daw lol ! before direct recording, i recorded my scrathin' in record mode but it has some drawbacks too. i'll try os 4.28 (8 tracks) and see if something has changed.

same ol direct recording... not in song mode

i know this may be a bit off topic, but has anyone noticed this:

for me on os4.28, the recording of main outs to the audio tracks at 57-64
only works when the recordings are done in 'overdub' mode and not (nothing but the metronome) in proper 'rec' mode.

im still new to mpc. But i wouldnt pay 30 bucks for a jjos. the original os is not bad at all.

i want a good os for alltime, i hate it to update all the time. shouldnt be that difficult to release a final os without bugs.

I mean first jj has to learn how to build a website maybe

the original os is not "Bad" it just has intense saving bugs, a terrible amp envelope bug, and the functions of a speak and spell comparatively. it's not even an issue of comparison...

i'm not sure if i really can compare the os... im only using an mpc for about two moths...

but what i want to say is that i hate to update my computer, i hate to update my os.

I thaugt i bought an apple computer compared to a windows machine with an mpc, a reliable os. But the updading terror goes on and on... i hate half finished features..
