need help for chopping!!

how can i do for make good chopping,i need some tutorials on the timing,
must i chop without timing or with 1/16 or 1/8.Sometimes i got problem
when i chop something and make a loop with it.

It really depends on the sample that your trying to create. If it's something like a simple drumloop or break, the auto chop feature in chopshop will do the job (thats if your goal is to isolate the kicks, snares, hats, etc.). It works well on other kinds of loops to, and sometimes you get slices at points that you might not have thought of slicing at if you had to do it manually, which can produce some fresh samples.

However, I still feel the best way to chop something up is to do it manually by going into the TRIM page, setting the start and end points around the region you want to sample, and extracting em one by one. Then going onto the trim page for those individual samples and fine tune cutting em by pressing the window button when the start or end point is highlighted.

the way i chop is i get the audio into recyle...chop it up the way i want to flib the sample and dump it back into my mpc 2500........

dont worry bout numbers. Chop with you ears and use the waveforms to get u in the ballpark. The waveforms on the mpc aint a detailed as software can produce but it give u a good enough idea of where certain sounds come in like kicks, horns, snares, etc. Also chop by the note so you can play your own melodies/arrangements if the sample fits.
