Keyboard+mpc+reason?

I have an novation sl, mpc-1000 an reason of course, and was wanting to know how to hook up reason as a sound module? Im thinking from what I have read on this awesome board it would go as follows- basicaly, midi out of keyboard to mpc in, mpc midi out to m-audio sound card midi in, hopefully im on the right track? thanks

great video, but has nothing to do with my question really? he just says midi out usb out etc and from what I see uses an oxygen 8 keyboard, opposed to my remote sl 47, my question was midi hook up in detail if someone could answer that would b great. if not I'll fiqure it out with more searching here. thanks

Sparq, is sync out need to change on mpc while using reason as a sound module? my novation keyboard plays sounds but mpc will not sequence or record anything that I play. running usb to computer from keyboard, midi out of keyboard to midi in mpc, an mpc midi out to midi in on sound card. any tips would be great, thanks

what exactly is your setup like?

I have mpc1000, novation sl 47 keyboard, reason 3.04, m audio audiophile 192, and even a yamaha dfx mixer also, but what im trying to do is use the mpc as you do in your video, but ive tried to run midi cables in every direction an set the mpc to midi track A, an prg. off etc. like you do in your video an just can get it to record the reason sounds I play on the novation keyboard. Even if and when I do set up the midi cables correctly, do I have to set midi clock in reason? or change sync in or out in mpc? omni a or b? but this novation keyboard may be the issue due to the fact that Im not setting the midi ports in global mode or something, or the keyboards midi clock to auto, or internal or what ever.

well i just hooked up my casio465 sound tone bank and works perfect, I was right all along, with what I thought was my problem, thanks for the help everyone
