Please, explain future audio track feature

What does "audio track is due to be used as 8 tracks" mean?

you can record on 8 tracks. atm, there are only 4 tracks you can direct-record audio on.

You can actually record on 8 right now. This was added on 4.28.

This confused me too... so did the name change from "Direct Record" tracks to "Audio"? or has it always been this way?
It's nice to get some extra direct record happening!
I wonder why we can't just specify any track as audio... so we could choose from Drum, Midi or Audio

^^^- That does make sense. The 2500 is that way, but they changed it too with the JJ OS.
