Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By tazzmatazz Fri Jan 05, 2007 10:01 pm
I have an MPC2000, not an XL...

recently, my external zip drive gave up on me. Today I've replaced it with the only replacement I could find which is a Castlewood "ORB"...the people at the store said that it would work...

I came home, plugged it into my MPC...started making a beat, finished it...tried to save it but...

the MPC can find the external ORB drive...so I formatted it...which took about 1 second (which I find strange as it is)...but when I hit "do it" on the save screen, there's a message: "Format is invalid"

does anyone know what I have to do? or what this means?

does it mean I can absolutely NOT save anything onto this diskdrive?does this mean that only zip devices can run on my MPC...?

thanks a lot

Go and get your money back from the store or try to format the orb again and see what happens.

get your money back and get an external SCSI card reader

My SCSI zip100 takes a second to format.

Floppies take ages (in today's hi-speed society)

Don't trust anyone who seems too eager to take money off you...
