MPC2000XL Power from different countries.

As far as I know the MPC2000XL takes an AC of voltage of 110 to 240. Here in Australia our power points are 240 volts. Would there be a problem if I took a machine from America and connected it here in Australia. Of course I would need to buy a different power cable. Do I need a special transformer or adaptor to make the machine run without blowing up?

You'll need a "Step-up" transformer from the 120 to 240 VAC.

It probably has an auto sensing power supply if it says 120-240.

Check the manual or email Akai.

I got the same problem, i bought my MPC in the states, but i live over sea's in a country that has 220 power, i bought a converter that converts to 110 and it works fine, im not sure if the MPC is 110-240 i couldnt find anything on the power supply so i got the converter to protect my investment, if you get a converter make sure it doesnt put out alot of watts and try to get one with surge protection.

ive been using my us mpc over here in espana and all i had to get was a plug to change the number of prongs cause its got the auto sensing deal built in....no problems except with my internal zip with coming ova here...

Step up converters are heavy so you might think of looking for someonne who knows electronics and electric currents to make a chord and a converter. Step up converters are expensive and heavy, real pains.
