Do you primarily use the Akai OS for your MPC 2500

2 and 3 sounds like you are having a hardware problem.

firstly, im pretty sure its not a hardware issue bcuz the exact same thing was happening on a brand new one i was mashin from the store, and secondly, ther is no reason for doing this, as i said i accidently stumbled onto it. it seems like a harmless bug but if jj can get it right, surely akai can 2.

Just because it was new doesn't mean that it is flawless. The functions that you were talking about uses buttons that are next to eachother. I can see where a hardware problem will result in your pressing one button and it triggers a button right next to it.

I don't use the JJ OS for anyother reason but to check out what it adds. Then I go right back to using the Akai OS, where I haven't had one problem with the exception of the way MTC works.

And just like reporting bugs to JJ (and they receive plenty of bug reports)..you have to give a detail explanation of how to produce a bug in order for it to be fixed. I did this alot and sent quite a few bug reports to Akai early on. I am using OS 1.22 and the only thing I have reported to Akai was the MTC slave issue, and the fact that the MPC 3000 timing/accuracy when recording into a software MIDI sequencer was slightly more accurate than the MPC 2500.

As far as your bugs...I can't produce them so far. But as I have stated earlier, I sent my MPC to Akai who did replace part(s) a few months back.

(1) Doesn't the fact that you don't know what pad is empty directly after you sample a sound (assigning a sound) bother anyone? The pads should be playable from the assign screen.
(2) When you try to erase a sound in 16 levels, you have to know what pad the original sound was assigned to. In 16 levels all the pads are the same sound and on the XL you could press ANY pad (in 16 level) to erase the undesired sound.
(3)Recording effect automation(in the mixer screen) still doesn't work.

Other issues that need to be fixed have already been addressed in previous posts. There is absolutely no reason why akai (or numark) should take so long to upgrade this os.

I can't speak for everyone...but having all the features of the XL is a top priority for me as well as the features of the 3000.

Mixer automation is a feature. However, are you sure that Effect automation is a supported function?

1-Clicks and Pops from Main Out
(This happens randomly, but always during my live set!)

2-Save/Usb File Corruptions
(its not an Mpc HD problem coz it happened also movin from Memory Card to my Mac HD, at the moment im workin with a Card Reader with better results, no Usb connection between Mpc and Mac no bug)

3-MISC feat (Cont S Tr-Mute Stop 1-shot) working wo affecting the MIDI trigg
(I know its a missin feat and not a bug but...)

Yeah, like let JJ work on the OS for the MPC 2500 and 1000 while they are finishing up my dream MPC 3500 or 5000.
