I'm thinking about switching to the JJ OS and I haven't really got time to read this whole board through. So if some of you guys could post some of the things that you think are the biggest issues with the JJ os, it would be great!

Also theres is something that i'm not really clear about: The audio tracks 57-64, can they start playback form the middle of a sample or what? i'm not really understanding the manual at ...biglobe.ne.jp...

if i'm understanding you right, yes. it'd be as if hitting "play" in the middle of a sample on a waveform seq. like acid pro - the sample needs no midi trigger to play.

i hate it when you have a sequence rolling and all of a sudden a sample you are triggering comes out of the left or right channels only. this is the big bug with this thing. and im not sure if its with jj only or with akai too.

i had this left/right channel bug too.. at first i thought it was because of my cables or some other hardware issues, but after a few tests it seemed like it's only happening to some samples, and not even constantly..sometimes it's gone after a second.

Nice. That might just be the reason for me to switch over.. But that left/right audio channel dropout sounds a bit scary, do you get that to? And antonym, there must be something that bothers you about the JJ os.. Please tell me.

you REALLY should get this os. all these issues are nothing compared to what it has to offer at the moment, with updates every 2 days. this left/right playback bug happenes to me like once in 3 days, nothing to be scared of.

i wonder if we can report the left/right bug and get jj to fix it or if its a hardware related problem... the thing still works, i just wish this inconvenience wouldnt pop up. its not pro.

it doesn't "drop out" it just acts as if it's panned completely to one side or another. it is annoying though.

somethign that bothers me about jj os? depends on perspective. compared to akai's os, nothing. there is absolutely no perk that akai's os has over jj's - except that it takes up less space on your mpc/expands its lifespan because you won't use it as much.

in terms of general things i'd like to see changed? definitely, tons of things "bother" me. for example: in grid edit, ZOOM and TIME CORRECT are conencted to one another. you can't view the seq in 1/8 while recording w/ time correct OFF. i'd really like to be able to do that.

...it doesn't have this particular annoying bug.

same problem here!

the thing i dislike about the jj os is that when you load samples you cant decide on what pad you wanna put it instantly.

At least JJ actually responds to emails!

I've been having a dialog with him about the fact that the JJ OS limits the size of the sample you can auto-chop to 20 seconds. His theory for the limitation is that it took so long to compute the chops on longer samples that some people thought the unit had frozen. Personally I'd like to be able to auto chop longer samples sometimes, so he's considering changing it.

A developer that acvtually responds. How refreshing :)
