I've been having a dialog with him about the fact that the JJ OS limits the size of the sample you can auto-chop to 20 seconds. His theory for the limitation is that it took so long to compute the chops on longer samples that some people thought the unit had frozen. Personally I'd like to be able to auto chop longer samples sometimes, so he's considering changing it.

A developer that acvtually responds. How refreshing :)

could you possibly tell him about this anomaly? do you speak japanese?

Well...Akai Japan and USA do responds to emails. But you can't go cursing people out expecting them to return messages

JJ won't return my messages....either because he/she/they are pissed because I have made fun of the OS....or the fact that they owe me money for stealing my ideas without giving the proper credit

I've never sent anything but curteous and polite emails. I've owned various Akai samplers over the last 10 years, and Akai has never once responded to any of my mails. Quite frustrating, but it's quite common with the larger music corporations.

Wow...I just hit my 10 year anniversary of using Akai products. The first few years was alright. My OS updates were coming automatically in the mail on floppy. My MPC 4000 OS arrived on CD-Rom. During those years, I lived in Japan and received excellent support. Whether I ordered parts, repairs, or needed a new MPC. Since I arrived here in the USA, I have received good service from Akai and Akai repair centers like VST and Forat. I really can't complain at all. I needed some repairs on my MPC 3000, VST hook me up quickly. They couldn't do a repair without a certain part that was on back order, but they gave me the product information. I got on the phone with Akai Japan..and bam...the parts were on the way and received them in a few days.

I don't know...maybe I got lucky. Or maybe its because I talk nicely about them in the forums :D Maybe if I do the same for JJ, they will be nice to meas well

What...are you upset too because they won't answer your dumb azz questions? Why would Akai support non-MPC users? As much as I have left you silly butt alone as of late..you still feel a need to address me on some dumb ish...look dude...stay out the forums....get a job..save your money...and then, maybe you can purchase an MPC for you to talk about. Until then...just download the manual and dream about using one.

Kids
