How is EMU 1212M's AD converter?

I'm looking for the audio interface to record from MPC2500 directly..

for sampler $1500... for audio interface.. $150..
i know it's weird, but i have no money to buy the class of RME, Apogee....


does 1212M kill the quality of MPC a lot?

i CAN tell you that I own an 1820m and it sounds great. they use the same AD/DA convertors as the Digi 002 series so that's what you're getting. I doubt the 1212 has those converts. but everyone I know that has one or all the guys on DOA (dogsonacid.com >> Grid) that have em, swear by it. no problems. and the patchmix routing is really modular.

either way, it wont KILL your mpc quality... because most of that comes from the samplers ability to seperate sounds on its own. the mixing required with an MPC is negligible. but any engineer will tell you otherwise.

if you really concerned about losing quality why not just bypass the AD conversion and track in via SPDIF?

i wouldnt worry about it too much. that said, i did just order a fireface 400

i had it for about 3 months, it's the most bang for the buck at that price range.

but like DFENS said, if you're worrying about the AD converters, just use SPDIF.
