depends on how your trying to link up
are you using the mpc as a slave or master, either way you'll need a good midi interface or firewire interface.

i want to synch the mixer to adobe's mixer. i have a midi input by m audio.

Does audition generate midi clock? I wouldn't think so...

I'm pretty sure it generates midi time code (MTC) tho, and for the mpc 1k to read it, you need the new JJ update which allows the 1k to see MTC.

if you have the jj/os then yeah you can use the MTC ,the MPC should be master and the Adobe should be slave. to activate AA hit F7 ,also go into option click on both device setting and device propertys setup everything, and don't forget to put a blank measure in the begining to make sure when your tracking ,everything sync's up.You shouldn't have any problems. 8)

PS AA doesn't transmit midi clock. I know forsure that CoolEditPro 2.0 -AA 1.5 don't not really sure about AA 2.0 ,but I don't think it does to.

ok i still dont have this figured out.

i got the jj os, its sweet. so now i have the mtc.

what i want to do is record in audition (Track By Track) what is playing from the mpc.
i dont understand the slave and master thing? i guess adobe would be the slave?

also im looking to record the mixer tracks and not the seq. tracks.

anyone who has experience with this please help me out. i feel like im missing some little peice of info or something.

I dont know audition but for the mpc every sequence consists of "tracks". Do you want to record them one by one in audition? If you record the mixer tracks... well they are plaing the seq. tracks. Just unsure about the terminology here.
I also dont see why u need them synced by all means, cant you just record it and put it in place?

Use audition as master if it won't accept incoming sync, and slave the mpc to it. (Make sure you set the frame rate to the same in both.) The only difference is where you press play, or in this case, record.

An other solution (where people certainly will disagree) is to use a 'count-in' on every track, for example the default click in the mpc, to align the tracks after they have been recorded into audition.

Good luck!

That is the only way to track your seq-tracks into AA.As for as mixer tracking not possible there's know such thing. Jus use the MP as the master then /slave for the AA it's very simple and easy.Make sure in option you setup everything to sync starting with midi in checked (interface)you don't have to worry about midi out unless you want AA to be the Master. if you need help in setup this up, then hit me up instance messaging.
