ok, i understand using FULL LEVEL function on MPC1000 will give you 100% velocity on all the pads, but you can set it so a single pad will always play at 100% velocity (or even better, at some variable velocity rate the user can preset)?

no, good idea though.

but there is a solid workaround for this. in Seq edit, scroll to VELOCITY and select whichever pad you want and hit "set value to" and make it say 127.

seq edit is slept on because it's not as visual or well laid out as it could be.

thanks nym, yeah i was hoping to avoid that type of workaround. while searching the forum i came across this nugget of info but i can't quite figure out where in the menu this would be....?

You can set a pad to full-level by setting the V->level control in the program to 0 (i.e. the pad velocity has 0 effect on the output level).

At least that's how I do it on the 1K (it's on the same page as the level envelope). Not sure where the equivalent is on the 4K.
