what about simult sequence

i was wondering what people will use simult sequence for. so far i see what it does, i have experimented a bit with it, but cannot really find a use which would match my ways with the mpc.

what about you guys ?

it is great, very usefull, easy, reliable. definitely one of the easiest to apply features.
You have to experiment and find for yourself, everyone has his own way of doing things.

would you care explaining why it is so great ?

there is nothing wrong with helping each other and posting tips on the forum is there ?

For those coming from turntables ( not me) must be obvious otherwise really just try, you will easily find a use for it. the most basic would be to have some preprepared breaks, like percussion or whatever, or checking how "this" may sound layered with "that" without copying anything...... believe me, you experiment and will easily find uses for you, I coudnt think of since I am not you and have no clue what music you might be doing. It is easy function. What do I find great about it? Instant application, no necessity to stop the sequence.

what are YOU guys actually using it for. i'm with the original poster... i know what you can do with it but i dont see a use for it?? ive made a few sequences.. separated my drums with the rest of the elements and while this is neat... i find it much easier to have it all on one seq. having two seqs with diff time sigs seems to be the only use for it. what did the mpc users who had this feature before do with it?

i think that this feature would be much much better if you could control 'next seq' independently for each simult sequence playing or if there were more than 2 simult sequences...not trying to hate but i'm having a hard time finding a good use for this feature although it seems like it would be great...

Yeah I like layering sequences as if I'm mixing records. This really adds more to the live feel of a performance. I'm really enjoying this!

i love this-
wouldnt it be great to take this to its own screen,like the track mutes-
and make it recordable-like,say you could create a new empty sequence of say,32 bars-then switch to a simult page,select a seq,hit record,and be able to drop different seqs in and out by hitting the pads(still most likely only two seqs at once,and have the instant drop in,or next bar/whatever....
this could extend into song mode, also
as it stands now,with it linked to the rotary dial,makes it tougher to select a seq that is,say 20 seqs away from the main one yer adding to,and then,to switch yer main/"base"seq,you have to navigate to a different area to change that,then back over to the simult changer....a bit much when yer trying to perform live,or under pressure:)
any thoughts??

yo the sequence simult screen ala mute screen is a good idea

but what i liked even better was "song grid edit"

where you have a vertical layout of your sequences that you could draw in on top of each other and so on, build your song that way. it's like in reason how you can draw a block overtop an arrangement, group it, and move the entire thing.

so awesome.

^-- that feature would be f'ing great... if you could simult up to 64 sequences via track mute page... and record your performance it would be very similar to ableton lives session manager. i think this feature would make song writing a blast.

First drop a verse on an audio track, save it as the length of the recording, then Simult sequence it over the beat!! (Sync issues though, so its still in the works-But it could be done!)
