What exactly is a filter and is the MFC a good one. I don't really care if it fits the brackets or not, just lookin for a good product.

Nothing to write home about....get a JoeMeekVCQ1 or Electrix Filter Factory if your looking to beef up your output.

The really big advantage of the MFC over the Electrix is that the MFC will give you 8-pole mono or 4-pole stereo. The Electrix only offers 2-pole stereo or 4-pole mono.
The MFC is manufactured by a company that still supports it. IVL dumped all their music related business (Electrix) to do other things (like making pitch shifters for toy microphones sold at Walmart).
