A problem you guys surely can help me with..

You see .. i copped my mpc500 for about 2 months ago, and its my first mpc, so im still the greatest noob of all times .. i have alreade readed the whole manual, exept for seq edit, step edit, and slider .. i think i will learn that later, when i get used to how this machine works .. my first problem is, i just cant find out how to use Song mode .. and yes, i have readed that part too .. but i dont understand ..

second problem, is .. uhm, lets say i have i 4 bar sample .. it plays two bars and then the last two bars plays over the first two .. you get it ?, im bad at english , go denmark !, go denmark ! .. anyway, it says in the manual, i just have to keep playing .. so i thougt i was pretty smart, when i started with playing 4 bars of drums, so i "Keep" playing the pads .. didnt work ... it seems crazy, and i think its a bug, maybe ..

so i thougt you guys could give me a hand getting started with this ? .. thank you

seems like nobody actually knows about this ? .. 16 views ? .... maybe people is sleepy ... drink some coffey, and go bomb me with answers .. .. i think its almost the same way to do this 4 bars setting/thing in all mpc's .. dunno .. how do you do it on mpc1000, 2500 ? ..

the mpc 1000 and other models have the number of bars in the sequence displayed on the main screen , and u have to move the curser till it highlights it and then turn the scroll wheel and it will change the number of the bars in ur loop . im guessing that on the 500 theres a separate window u have to open to get to the bars, try scrolling around all the options in the sequence mode, its gotta be in there

mode > song

there isn't any way to change number of bars i seq mode ..

If anyone has the same problem.

Press sequence, press params, scroll to you see "Lenght of sequence" .. set it to 4 or whatever you want .. you have to load a sample before you can touch it ..

now song mode ... any help there ? ..

song mode is really simple.....What is it that you don't get about it?

I use Song Mode all the time on my mpc 4000 and it is as simple as pie but Its kind of confusing for me on the 500, the sequence never play correctly. And the manual doesnt explain it well enough.

in song mode you just have to assign sequence to each "01", "02", ... And than you set how many times you want, to repeat (each sequence).

what if i want play sequence one, two, and then one again ? .. is sequences the things i records in track, params ? ..

yes, its like a pattern.

1º Now, go to mode > song

2º Now you see 'Song select' 'sg:01-(unused)'

3º in Data Wheel go to 'Assign seq'

4º it will appear '001:End of song'

5º Now, instead of 'End of song' you choose the sequence (eg: Sequence01).

6º in Datal Wheel again find 'Repeats'

7º Choose 001 (for Sequence01) and 'Times': 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... ( it will play the sequence 1, or 2, 3..... times.

Download the MPC500 Parameter Map from here...

...and print it out, it gives you an overview of where all the different parameters are, and makes it easier to find them when you need them.

It sounds easy .. im using hours tryin founding out this song mode .. i make one sequence in params .. u follow me ? .. then what ? .. when i go to params again, how do i make a new sequence ? .. so that i can make a start of beat, and an end ? .. sorry, i just dont get it .. and this manual drives me crazy .. song mode is the only part i dont get ..

Homie, in this case, forget 'params'. Hit the 'sequence' button, select your tempo and make your sequence (record what you want), if you want to copy that sequence to sequence02 go to 'params' and copy it.

Now, to be simply, just make as I said in the post before. Make your sequence in 'sequence' and then go through the steps.
