Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have an XL and I'm trying to connect a Zip 250 drive to it. The zip drive I have does not have the switches on the back of it for termination and SCSI ID. So how do I do those things with this (older) zip drive?

When I have the unit plugged in and turn on the MP there's a message that says "Detecting Memory" that just stays up on my screen and never leaves. What does this mean? I can tell it's not detecting my zip drive because if I try to go to load it just says "Wait" and never opens. What's wrong? This is why I'm asking the question about scsi id and termination, maybe a cord issue? NEED HELP

What you have there is not a SCSI zip drive.

I have an Iomega Zip 250 external drive. It connects with a SCSI cable

if i'm correct, the zip drive you have is parallel, meaning it is only meant for computers and will not work with your mpc

OK so what type of Zip drive do I need so that it will work with my MPC?

A SCSI zip drive or an internal IDE.
